2 Easy Ways To Promote Your Website

Believe it or note, blogging will do more to increase web traffic for you than almost anything else that you can do for free.  Espeically if you set up a Wordpress blog.  And that is because Google is in love with Wordpress.  You see, it all boils down to one simple explanation.  Google and Wordpress just seem to parse perfectly.  Therefor, Google ranks Wordpress blogs higher than other sites.  So if you own a domain, setting up a Wordpress blog will only take a coupld clicks of the mouse and…. boom, you’re in business.  But keep in mind that the most important thing about running a good and successful business blog is to have consistent things to say.

The second way to promote your website and increase web traffic is probably one of the most fun activities of all.  And that is to become involved and active in social media communities like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedln.  And as long as you’re at it, jump into the social bookmarking community, in which members share websites, articles and news with each other.  The best social bookmarking sites you should get busy with are:  Digg, Delicious, StumpbleUpon,  and GoogleBookmarks.  These are all favorites of search engine spiders and they are constantly going through these sites for links to relevant content.  Just don’t spam or overly promote yourself or your websit.  Just like all of the other forms of social networking, you must listen and contribute relevant and useful comments and information.

Free Website Advertising is Here

Hardly anyone understands how easy they can harnes the amazing power of news releases and press releases and the value it has to their website advertising.  Almost nobody thinks of press release services as a “traffic site”.   Most people think they can only submit a press or news release which has something to do with their own individual business.  But nothing could be farther from the truth.  All you need to do is find news worth events, write up a quick news release, include your website URL at the end of it, then send it to print and web periodicals which relate to your industry.  This will give you valuable links back to your site from high page rank websites.  These links will typically remain for several months and will act like a traffic site for you, aiding you in website advertising.

So much of website advertising has to do with building backlinks to your website.  And one of the most popular ways to do this which doesn’t cost a penny is to use social media.  Social media includes blog commenting, forums posting, social bookmarking, and other social networking websites where you can interact with others who have interests similar to yours.  Every time you post a comment on a blog or forum, you have the opportunity to also post a link to your website.  Don’t under estimate the power this gives you and the volume of traffic you will get as a result of your posts.  People love to interact with others, and they also cannot resist seeing what other people are up to.  This curiosity drives them to click your links, driving traffic to your site.

Website Optimization includes this…

Website Optimization includes this…

Most people don’t realize that website optimization also includes off site optimizing as well as onsite optimizing, both of which can also increase traffic to your website.  Here are a couple of key website optimization tips you should follow to get more targeted traffic  to your site:

1.  In addition to submitting your site to specialized directories, also submit it to trade organization sites.  If your site focuses on a specific industry such as real estate or insurance, you can get more targeted traffic by submitting your site to various trade organizations or associations which you may already belong to.  Just ask them for a link to their trade site.  Some such sites might charge a small fee for inclusion in their trade directories, but the small fee is well worth it and you will get a good return on your investment in terms of targeted traffic you’ll receive.  Plus this will improve your page rank as well.  There is no need to submit to every single trade organization site out there.  Only concentrate on the most popular ones and avoid any ‘upgrade’ listings.  A simple free link is often all you need to do the trick.

2.  Writing and submitting articles for other websites to use will increase traffic to your website as well as increase valuable backlinks to your site.  Articles are easy to write, and doing so will dramatically increase your visibility when you write on topics where your expertise lies.  You can easily distribute your articles online to free content sites and article directories and in return, your articles will become viral, as other website owners will pick up your articles and publish them on their websites, producing hundreds of links to your site over time.  The article directories which Google considers it’s ‘top picks’ are EzineArticles, GoArticles and SearchWarp.

3 More Ways to Get Traffic The

 Right Way

If you’ve been following the tips on this blog, by now you should have your website looking good to search engines and some visitors should be starting to get more targeted traffic naturally from search engines.  You should be feeling pretty good, too, because without spending a penny,  you have been able to increase site traffic without too much effort.  Here are a few more tips to help you increase site traffic;

1.  Local Business – Don’t forget to include your street address on every page of your website.  I can’t believe how many people forget to do this to get traffic!  You’ve spent so much time optimizing your page for internet visitors, so why not spend a few moments optimizing for local business traffic.  Afterall, you don’t even need to buy traffic this way because it won’t cost you a penny to include your street address, zip code, and phone number.  If you think that the majority of your traffic should come from local traffic, you should also include this information in your title tag, too.  And while you are at it, contact local businesses with a link exchange request.  In addition to this, you can create a free listing of your local business on Google Maps Local Business Center as well as Yahoo Local.  If you do that, your business will automatically show up on a mpa when people do a local search.

2. Get Traffic From Video, Image and Audio Searches

As mentioned in an early blog post, I talked about using image ALT tags to help increase website traffic.  Because Google’s search engine will also bring up video, audio and image content in addition to webpage content, you should consider creating this kind of content relating to your topic and then optize it so it can also be ranked high enough to help you.  For example, you could make an informative video for Youtube, and in it, you mention your website.  This will increase web traffic for you without the need to buy traffic.

3.  Linking to your site from other sites drives traffic and increases page rank.  When building incoming links, keep in mind that only want links from sites which the search engines consider popular and trusted.  Linking from non trusted or non popular sites will only hurt your rank.  Having said that, you should submit your site to key directoris such as those a dmoz.com, Yahoo Directory, and About.com.

To Improve Website Ranking Quickly Do This

To Improve Website Ranking Quickly Do This

Search engine robots are looking for your website. Maybe they found you, but can they read your site? Use these 3 tips in your website marketing to make sure they can:

If your navigation is not search engine friendly, the search engine robots might not be able to read your site and that hurts your website marketing.   This is true especially if your site uses JavaScript and Flash. Sure, these things make your site look great to humans, but they also render your site unreadble to the robots. And that will hurt your website ranking.

If your site uses JavaScript and Flash menus, you can easily supplement them with regular HTML links at the bottom of your website. This one tiny change will make sure that a chain of hyperlinks exists, allowing the search engine spiders to navigate through every page of your site. And, don’t use HTML frames or you’ll only confuse the spiders and cause problems for yourself and your website ranking and your website marketing.

If your web site URL contains a question mark followed by a long string of numbers or letters, search engines will have trouble parsing it, and will refuse to go farther than the question mark. This will prevent the search engines from indexing the interior pages of your site. If you find yourself in this predicament, you should consider using a site map, or URL rewriting or some other commercial solution. Otherwise, you will have serious difficulty with your website marketing and website promotion.

2. Build A Site Map. Site maps are an essential website marketing tool these days. Site maps are easy to create and will help search engines find their way around all of the pages within your site. I personally like to use Google XML-Sitemap Generator which instanly builds blog sitemaps with just the click of a mouse. You can also use XML-Sitemaps.com to create sitemaps which will make your website recognizable by the major search engines. I cannot stress enough how important these tools are to website promotion.

3. Effective Website Promotion requires that each and every single one of your webpages on your site are focused on your target keywords. So, create a single page for each individual keyword or keyword phrase you are targeting. This will help you get a higher ranking for that particular keyword or phrase. For example, let’s say your are targeting teeth whitening. Use the free Google keyword suggestion tool to find related keywords to build pages around which people search heavily for. Pick as many words as you want to target, and create a separate page for each of these words on your website. You might find words like ‘teeth whitening kits’,
teeth whitening gel’, ‘tooth whitening’, ‘teeth bleaching’, etc. With each of these words, you will write a completely different article on each topic. This will help you with your website promotion.

How To Use Keywords To Increase Web Site Traffic

How To Use Keywords To Increase Web Site Traffic

The next 3 SEO techniques you must do which will increase web site traffic relates specifically to how you use your keywords:

1.  Put your keywords in the first paragraph.  As you might guess, people are not the only ones who consider the first paragraph as the most important paragraph.  Search engines also regard the first paragraph as the most important part of your web page.  That is where search engines are programmed to look for important keywords for the web page.  The first paragraph is typically an introduction to the content of the page.  Now, having said that, you should never simply stuff that first paragraph with your keywords.  This is a case where less might in fact be more.  So don’t over do it here.

2.  Using descriptive Alt Tags for your images on your web page will increase website traffic.  ALT tags are the little attributes which allow you to place your mouse over an image on a page and trigger a tiny descriptive text box to appear to the website visitor during the mouse over.  This also gives an extra clue to the search engine as to what the page is about, which will help your images actually get ranked very highly on search engines.  For example;  go to Google right now, do a search for a topic; then on the results page, near the top left, you will see several options such as ‘web’, ‘image’, ‘video’ etc.  Click on the ‘image’ option and you will be taken to the image search results for that keyword.  When you use the ALT tag properly, your image will appear and be ranked well in those results.  Don’t under estimate the amount of traffic that this tiny SEO attribute will bring you!

3.  Hyperlink your keywords:  Again, remember that the search engine robots are always looking for clues on your website.  Your goal is to make your keywords stand out, look more important than the rest of the content, and notice emphasis you place on your keywords which will in return, bring more web traffic.  So turning your keywords into hyperlinks helps you accomplish this.

increase traffic

Want to increase traffic to a website?  Got a website but not enough visitors?  Wondering how to promote a website?  All you need  is to follow a few simple strategies that will easily allow the search engines to promote your website for you  and before you know it, you will increase web traffic for free.  By employing simple SEO into your website, your pages will get indexed quicker, be listed in the organic search results higher, and give search engines clues about relevant content on your site.

For the next several days, I will be posting tips for you to use which will get search engines to notice your website, and increase web traffic, and make it easy for search engines to promote your website for you.

1.  Include your main keyword (or phrase) in your page title.   Each page on of your site will need a different title and each of these titles needs to be a keyword you are targeting in order for search engines to rank your page for that keyword.  Remove any filler words from your title while keeping it readable.  Once the search engine robots finds your title, your page title will show up as a hyperlink on the search engine.  With that in mind, your game plan will be to make the title provocative so that searchers will be enticed to click on it.

2.  Create an optimized description for your META Tag:  When you are browsing through search results on a search engine, you will find the clickable titles, followed by a brief description about the website.  These descriptions are usually only a couple of sentences long, describing the site content and contain keywords or keyword phrases.  When you are writing your web page description for your META Tag, do not include keywords that do not appear on your webpage.  The description META Tag should be at the top of the web page between the <HEAD></HEAD> tags.  Keep in mind that META Tags are not used much for ranking, but this is the information that searchers are shown when the search engine returns search results to the searcher.  That will help increase web traffic for you.

3.  Use Keywords in H1, H2, H3 Headers:   Search engines recognize H tags as more important the rest of the content and when used properly, will increase web traffic to your site.   That’s because, when you include keywords in your H tags, search engines know that is where the emphasis is, and considers those words most important and ranks them accordingly.
